1974 Fender Telecaster Custom. 1960’s Fender Bandmaster head. An Acoustic cab (with at least one horn) that sounded awesome. I have always loved great gear and playing loud. I was, however, overly serious about things. And I probably thought a little too highly of myself back in those days. We live and we learn (at least in theory).
In high school I always had my guitar with me. This picture was included in the first or second page of the yearbook. The guitar was a Gibson ES 175. I won all-state with that guitar. These were the years where my teachers pushed me, and pushed me, to study and learn my instrument and music theory. I am eternally grateful to Karen Wilcox and Joe Keown for being the teachers and friends that that they were.
At a surprise birthday party, I got up and did this. It was fun.
Here is a performance of mine at Guitar Center in Natick, MA.
Here I was playing a gig at Henry Wilson Jr. High. Our set list included lots of Aerosmith and Led Zeppelin. That band was called Spirit.
